Glassboro, NJ – America’s glass rack leader, MyGlassTruck.com, introduces a new, compact A-frame glass carrier for pick-up trucks. This innovative carrier provides an alternative to taller, wider, side-mounted carriers that are often “too much rack” for transporting smaller pieces of glass. The A-frame carrier rides inside the truck’s bed, making it easier to maneuver the pick-up and carrier through width and height restricted areas. Transporting glass inside the truck bed also helps protect against damage from flying road debris.
A compact size and optional quick-disconnect mounting system enables glaziers operating their own pick-up trucks to install the A-frame rack for a glass delivery, and then easily remove it for personal driving. Two men can uninstall the carrier in less than five minutes.
Companies with several trucks can utilize the quick-disconnect option to dual purpose a pick-up as a part-time glass delivery vehicle, instead of tying up the truck with a permanently installed rack. A single A-frame carrier can also be “swapped” between multiple pick-up trucks equipped with the quick-disconnect system.
From a cost control standpoint, removing the A-frame carrier when it’s not being used saves money for glaziers by improving fuel economy while extending vehicle and carrier life by decreasing wear and tear over time.
Off-the-Shelf Options to Fit the Glazier’s Specific Needs
A model that extends over an open tailgate is available along with one that allows the tailgate to close. The A-frame can be built with, or without padded bottom ledges in a range of lengths from 6- to 10-feet. A-frame carriers without bottom ledges can transport slightly taller pieces of glass and utilize the e-track cargo control system to secure payloads. Models with ledges can be equipped with e-track and/or aluminum glass holding poles featuring black triangle cleats that can be vertically adjusted to any position along their length. Poles can be upgraded with scissor-style System 2 Supertruck cleats. An attractive, diamond-plate panel across the carrier’s back that helps secure items stored inside the “A” during transport is also available as an option.
Durable Construction -- Designed to Protect Your Glass
The A-frame glass carrier is fabricated from strong 1/8" thick, fully-padded T6 aluminum slats and posts joined with Huck® air-craft grade mechanical fasteners that won’t crack like welded aluminum, or loosen from vibration. The posts are buttressed with double-bolted support plates at every angle, and horizontal trusses provide support across the bottom of the “A” to create an extremely rigid glass support structure. Rear reflectors are included to help enhance visibility.
Glaziers delivering smaller pieces of glass with the A-frame carrier benefit from a number of advantages: the A-frame’s compact size is more appropriate for smaller payloads; placing the rack inside the truck’s bed facilitates maneuverability in tight areas and enhances glass protection; the optional quick-disconnect mounting system adds flexibility and saves fuel; “off the shelf” options make it quick and easy to customize the rack to fit the glazier’s specific needs; and quality construction and design ensure carrier longevity and protect glass. |
