Glassboro, NJ – MyGlassTruck.com announces the release of a new glass carrier for cargo vans and pick-up trucks that extends to 10' tall for transporting large pieces of sheet glass. For smaller payloads the carrier adjusts back to its original height of seven feet. This new rack makes it possible for glaziers operating standard-sized vehicles to transport sheets of glass up to 10' tall to jobsites without incurring delivery fees or renting larger vehicles.
The height-extendable carrier can be built to extend to a fixed height or in increments of eight-, nine- and ten feet, and includes three matching height-extendable poles as standard equipment. An operator and helper can quickly and easily extend the rack without using any tools. Both carrier and poles utilize a telescoping design in which the top section’s posts slide up and down inside the bottom section’s posts and lock in place with stainless steel detent pins.
Each telescoping pole features black triangle cleats that can be vertically adjusted along the pole’s length, and removable steel top hooks and bottom tongues for strength and field serviceability. For superior adjustability poles may be upgraded to include Supertruck System 2 scissor-style cleats.
Load bearing underbody mounts that are computer designed for specific vehicle models integrate the rack directly into the chassis for optimal support of glass and carrier weight. The top mounting system is incorporated into MyGlassTruck’s standard van or pick-up truck roof rack which is available with several options including an over-the-cab extension and a cat walk with, or without, an integrated roll-out ladder.
Fabricated from sturdy 6061 T6 Aluminum posts and slats, each height-extendable carrier is assembled with Huck® aircraft-grade mechanical fasteners for strong connections that won’t crack like welded aluminum, or loosen from vibration like bolts, nuts or screws.
All MyGlassTruck.com glass and stone carriers include integrated horizontal and vertical rubber padding along the full length of the posts and slats which is the most glass protection padding available on any glass carrier. There’s also a 5-inch wide bottom ledge with thick rubber base pads to protect the edge of the glass and dual pole settings to accommodate a wide range of thicknesses. |
