Glassboro, NJ – MyGlassTruck.com announces the release of a single-sided glass carrier with a demountable option that offers glaziers the versatility of dual-purposing a standard pick-up truck as a glass transport truck.
This new single-sided model provides companies utilizing pick-up trucks to make smaller or occasional deliveries with a cost-effective alternative to wider, heavier double-sided glass carriers. A narrower width makes the pick-up and single-sided carrier easier to maneuver for trouble-free glass deliveries in crowded spaces and urban areas. Since the rack is mounted on just one side of the pick-up truck, the other side of the vehicle is accessible for quicker, more convenient loading and unloading.
Now it’s a Glass Truck, Now it’s not.
A new demountable option for pick-up trucks further enhances the carrier’s usefulness to smaller companies because a driver and helper can non-permanently install the rack onto the pick-up for deliveries, and then remove it and operate the truck without the carrier for sales calls or personal use.
For larger fleets the ability to install and uninstall the carrier brings flexibility to delivery schedules. “Swapping” a rack between several pick-up trucks provides an alternative to purchasing additional equipment or specialized vehicles for transporting sheet glass or flat building materials including stone, plywood and drywall. Removing the carrier when not in use improves fuel economy by reducing weight and drag and extends vehicle and carrier life by decreasing wear and tear over time.
Up top, the carrier attaches to the pick-up’s bed wall through a strong and stable mounting system, and at the bottom, the non-demountable model is integrated into the truck’s chassis with computer-designed, load bearing galvanized steel underbody mounts. The demountable option adds heavy-duty ratcheting straps for securing the carrier top-side and a load bearing mounting system similar to a trailer hitch and receiver on the truck’s underside.
Engineered for Successful Deliveries – Built for Longevity
User-friendly and tough, the single-sided carrier can be installed onto the driver or passenger side of a pick-up truck. It’s fabricated from 1/8" thick T6 aluminum slats and posts joined with Huck air-craft grade mechanical fasteners that won’t crack as a result of local heat affected zones caused by welding aluminum; or loosen from vibration like bolts, nuts and screws. To maximize protection, MyGlassTruck.com racks have integrated rubber padding along all glass supporting surfaces–the most protective padding in the industry. A 5" deep glass holding ledge along the carrier’s bottom features dual pole settings for securing glass of varying thickness and is lined with thick rubber block pads to protect the glass’s bottom edge. A removable wheel skirt option is available for hassle-free tire changes and maintenance.
Included with each single-sided carrier for a pick-up truck are three aluminum T6-Adjust-A-Poles. Each has five black triangle cleats that can be vertically adjusted to any position up or down the pole’s length. The cleats also slide forward and backward to secure glass of varying thickness and lock into position with the turn of a threaded T-handle.
“We designed the single-sided carrier for pick-up trucks to be an affordable, top-quality rack for glaziers who make smaller or occasional deliveries. It’s easier to maneuver through tight urban streets than trucks with conventional double-sided carriers.” states Rustin Cassway, president of MyGlassTruck.com. “Plus, the demountable option adds versatility and convenience because the pick-up truck can be operated with, or without the rack at any time.”. |
