A Glazier’s Guide to Glass Rack Installation at MyGlassTruck
This guide covers average costs, truck compatibility, and lead times for glass rack installation, plus prep steps, scheduling, and onsite process details.
Getting a new rack shouldn’t be complicated. This quick FAQ walks you through the three questions we hear most from solo glaziers—plus a couple of pro tips for a smooth install day. Skim what you need, bookmark the rest, and you’ll know exactly what to expect.
What will my glass rack installation cost?
A single‑truck install is more affordable than most glaziers expect, but your exact price depends on a few variables.
Rack style & size: exterior, interior, or pickup rack and the overall length/height you need.
Truck configuration: van, pickup, roof height, and any existing up‑fits.
Optional add‑ons: E-Track, Ladder racks, Super Poles, etc.
Because every build is tailored to your truck and workload, we recommend requesting a personalized quote. It takes less than five minutes—just call us or use the quote‑request form.
Custom options like our Super Poles can be added to your rack.
Which truck models are compatible with MyGlassTruck racks?
We build racks for most popular commercial vans and pickups, and chances are high we’ve already outfitted your exact model.
Commonly up-fitted vans:
Ford Transit
Mercedes Sprinter
Chevy Express
Ford E‑Series / Econoline
RAM ProMaster
Nissan NV
Commonly up-fitted pickups:
Ford F‑Series
Chevy Silverado / GMC Sierra
Dodge Ram
Toyota Tundra
To speed up your quote, have these handy:
Desired rack size (overall length & height).
Vehicle dimensions(bed length for pickups, roof height for vans, wheelbase for vans).
VIN – lets us double‑check chassis specs
How long does it take to get my rack installed?
Production lead time: Your custom rack is usually built and ready within 2–3 weeks of placing your deposit. On‑site install time: Once your truck rolls into our install bay we can typically finish the job in the same day. Need it faster? Ask about openings in our schedule, cancellations sometimes free up an earlier slot.
We’ll lock in your installation date as soon as your rack is in production and keep you posted if anything changes.
Every rack is made to order and designed to fit your vehicle.
How should I prep my truck before the appointment?
A little prep goes a long way:
Empty the cargo area if we’re installing an interior or pickup rack. Remove roof accessories that might interfere with rack mounting (existing ladder racks, aftermarket crossbars, etc.).
Plan to drop the truck off by 7 A.M. on your scheduled day so our techs can start right away. We also have a secure lockbox so you can leave your truck the night before.
What happens on installation day at MyGlassTruck?
Check‑in 7 A.M. – We confirm work order details, walk around your vehicle, and answer any last‑minute questions.
Rack installation – Typically ½ day or a full-day depending on the type of rack. Feel free to wait in our lounge or explore downtown Glassboro.
Final walkthrough – We review mounting points, load‑securement tips, and maintenance basics before handing back the keys
